Personal Project Presentation
Tuesday March 29 2011
On the evening of Tuesday 29 March you will present the work you have done over the last 5 months to the FIS community. A volunteer assessor will meet with you, ask you questions and evaluate your work. You will need to think carefully about how you should present your project. You must always consider your presentation from other people’s perspectives. The nature of the presentation will vary depending on the type of personal project.
Personal Project Criteria 2 and 3 will be assessed on the night of the presentations (see assessment criteria on website)
Criteria 2: Planning and Explanation of Project
ü How well does the student explain the project to the assessor on the evening of the exhibition? Is information, either written or spoken, given in a clear and concise manner?
Criteria 3: Presentation of Project
ü How original and creative has the student been in presenting the project on the exhibition evening. Is information presented in an organized, easy to read, neat manner showing pride and effort?
What do you need to have on the night?
o Presentation board with:
§ Stated goal or aim of your personal project
§ Your project time-line - pictures with captions showing the chronology of your project. (You should include any reflective elements in your captions)
§ Facts and /or details that share your knowledge or progress toward your stated goal.
o A prepared speech to share with the assessor and other members of the FIS community
o Any artifacts that are related to the project.
HINTS:
Have a look at the examples of personal projects that other students have done (available on the project web page) and see how they have presented their ideas.
Discuss the final structure you propose to use with your parents before and while you work on it. You could also ask other students for their opinions.
Remember, however, that your personal project is your piece of work.
