1. To help you create a plan of action for your project answer the following questions.

What do I have to do (find out) to complete my project?
  How to make clothes
How to do a technical drawing
What fabrics can be used for specific designs or specific parts of clothes and what is required to      actually be able to make a piece of clothing.
I am sure I will have to find out a lot more throughout the rest of the process of the project

Where will I find the necessary materials?
 -Karstadt
 - other fabric stores in Frankfurt
 -Fabrics that belong to friends

Who has information about my topic?
 Youtube (internet and magazines)
 Friends (Jaquiline)

Should I carry out my own experiments?
YES! I should at lest try to make one piece of clothing myself, learn how to sow the flowers for one of my dress and dramatically personalize a jacket, which will then also be used as a skirt.

Do I need to prepare, circulate and analyze a questionnaire or survey?
 Maybe
-ask people what brand name I should use
  - ask people what designs they like best
  - ask who wants to join the fashion show

Do I need to go to libraries other than the school library?
Yes. I need to check out a book called "Einfach gut angezogen". It tells all these technical expressions which i should learn.
Maybe I need to check out a book on how to start an online lookbook/business.

Do I need to visit museums?
 No.

Do I need to interview individuals?
Yes.  For example a past designer who was quite successful but quite designing.

2.Once you have defined the tasks to complete you need to consider time needed to complete your project.

·  How much time do I need to complete the research/learning needed?
There will be constant research and learning needed as I enter new phases of my project or come across dilemmas.
·
How much time do I need to analyse  or synthesis the research?
NNot to long.  It depends how much time I have to organize things/ communicate with other people and if i use my time wisely or not.  I basically do not really need to think about my research just incorporate it in my designs and show my inspirations/research on my blog.  Then I made my collages, which were the products of research in magazines, taking up about one afternoon.

How much time do I need to create my product or present my learning?
About 4-5 weeks.
      -updating and making my blog
      - taking pictures
      - making my lookbook/website
      - posters
      - cleaning up my design book
      - foamboards
      - organizing mannequins and fashion show
-
3.Completing any type of project is not usually a simple process; it may be messy and involve changes in your plans, especially in the developmental stages.

·  What problems might you encounter while working on your project?
One of my problems will be to find a taylor who can make more than one of my designs for a decent price.  I saw two taylors so far.  One of them would have made ONE dress for 240 Euros.  I said that I would have to find an alternative, but I still asked this taylor to show me how to do technical sketches.
Then I contacted my friend in China to see if she knows anyone. She did but the time it would take the taylor to make them and send them back to me would probably take too long.  Also, it would have been difficult to make sure the taylor was making what I wanted.  So next I decided I would make the dresses on my own.. SILLY ME.  I found out you need to buy a pattern and then cut the pattern out of the fabric.  In addition to this, there are a ton of steps one needs to learn and follow when making clothes.  And its not like I only designed dresses.

·  How could you avoid or overcome any obstacles or problems you have while completing your project?
I found a Taylor who was very friendly and willing to help me with my project.  She not only gave me a huge discount, but also went to Frankfurt with me one saturday to tell me what fabrics could be used for what part of the dresses.  She is now making 5 dresses which i designed.  I learnt that to make a dress you always need to have an under fabric.  I also learnt that not every fabric could be used for every design because it is too thin, loose, or stiff.  I will also come and watch her and help her when she makes my dresses so that in the future then I will be able to make dresses and clothes on my own.

4. Presenting your project to fellow students and the public is a component of the personal project. You need to think about how you will present your project on March 10 2011.

·  How will you present your learning at the end of the project?
mannequins, lookbook, blog, photos, fashion show

You will be required to share the journey you took to complete your project. How will you do this?
By recording everything on my blog, presenting my products and my sketchbook, making the required timeline, presentations on foamboards...

5. Now that you have a plan, look again and reflect on your plan.

·  How will you know you have researched your plan thoroughly?
I won't because I will come across my obstacles and new things which i didn't know I would have to research throughout completing my project.  This means I will have to manage my time well.
·  How will you know you have met your goal(s) for the project?
If I am happy with my project, have learnt many things for the future, discovered a new passion, continuing with design in the future, and when I am able to gain a good grade and impress my audience and target market I have achieved my goal.
·  Have you set realistic deadlines for each stage of the project?
I think yes because I am making sure I will complete the project on time, but the intervals between each deadline is reasonable leaving not too little but not too much time for completion.

·  How will you evaluate/ assess your project at the end?
If I/ others like my designs and products and if people ask me to keep on designing or praise me then that shows that I have done a good job.  I think the most important thing to keep in mind is to see how many new things you can learn in this short amount of time about a topic that you like.  One must also look at how I organized my time, kept track of what I was doing and how I overcame challenges.
