Dear Students,

Welcome to the Grade 9 Personal Project!  Your Personal Project can be a challenging, fun, life-changing experience if you actively participate in it. Everything you need to guide you in this journey can be found here on this site.  This guide is here because you will need it. Use it!

This guide is one key to success. Other important keys are:

v  BIG 6 research steps you have used here at FIS

v  Consistently using the Process Journal to keep track of your research and progress (Be sure to keep track of all your sources and reference them properly)

v  Talking with an adult mentor

Stick closely to the timeline! This is not a project you can do the night before the due date. Do yourself a favor and do not fall behind!

Did I mention to use this guide and record all your work in the Process Journal, I hope so, because it is important!

Lastly, have fun! (This is a requirement!) To maintain your motivation and interest through the work this project will entail, choose one that is special and meaningful to you and that you will enjoy! After all, this is YOUR Personal Project!
